Right-lefthandedness: arrow throwing at the target as a performance-preference test

The question of righthandedness and lefthandedness is still an open chapter in neuroscience disciplines. The knowledge about language

and other symbolic cortical cerebral functions has increase due to advancement of neuroimaging methods. Anatomo-physiologic crossed

cerebro-cerebellar interconnestions are enough known. To the questions of muscle tone in cerebellar afflictions big attention has been

dedicated. But surprisingly little data are presented about physiologic asymmetry in muscle tone on limbs in relation to handedness

and to language and other symbolic functions. The czech neurologic school about cerebellar dominance represent an exception. As

we have previously estimated about 50–60 % lefthanded people show simillar asymmetry in muscle tone on limbs as righthanded. We

were interested if there could be found a relation between cerebellar dominance estimated by means of physiological relative lower

muscle tone on nondominant upper extremity and its adroitness. We have used a arrow target throwing test. Lefthanded during throwing

manifest as more skilful and exact not only by using of their dominant left hand, but also usig their nondominant right upper extremity.

Detailed statistic data are presented in the text.
