SECTIONS

1. Review articles

  • Latest knowledge on the aetiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and groups of diseases.
  • Maximum length is 8 pages (including figures, graphs, tables and references) (font size: 12 pt, font type: Times New Roman, line spacing: 1.5 lines) with up to six figures (graphs). The article is to be written with an emphasis on its practical utilization by neurologists.

2. Reports from the practice (case report, original contribution)

  • Maximum length: case report - 7 pages (including figures, graphs, tables and references), original contribution - 8 pages (font size: 12 pt, font type: Times New Roman, line spacing: 1.5 lines).

3. Video case report

  • Text in the Journal + a consent-based video recording on the web site. Maximum length: 7 pages (including figures, graphs, tables and references), (font size: 12 pt, font type: Times New Roman, line spacing: 1.5 lines).
  • Maximum length of segment: 90 s, maximum: 3 segments.
  • The video recording is to be sent in maximum resolution, original raw data and when editing is needed, edit with minimum recoding.
  • The author is required to obtain the patient’s informed consent which is available below.

4. Beyond neurology

  • Papers written by specialists from other branches with an interest in neurology.

5. Reports from the literature

Publishing abroad

  • An abstract in Czech or Slovak of a scientific paper published abroad. Not older than 1 year. Maximum length 1 page (font size: 12 pt, font type: Times New Roman, line spacing: 1.5 lines).

From foreign press

  • Items of interest from the foreign press, advances in diagnosis and treatment and other specialized information with a maximum length of two pages.

6. Commentaries

  • Responses to review articles, information on specialized events, new books, reviews, conference reports, invitations, historical comments and others.

MANUSCRIPT STYLING

  • The paper is to be written on a computer using a common text editor and to be sent by e-mail to the following address: bartakova@solen.cz
  • Write continuously, use the entire width, do not format text in columns (except in tables)
  • Use the ENTER key only exceptionally
  • Differentiate carefully between the numbers 1 and 0 and the letters l and O
  • Always use round brackets ( )
  • Use progressive spelling
  • All abbreviations used must be explained immediately at the beginning of the paper, below the abstract and the keywords. Expand all abbreviations at first mention in the text.

MANUSCRIPT REQUIREMENTS

  1. A descriptive and concise title, first names and surnames of all authors including their academic degrees and affiliations. The main author’s address including telephone number, fax and e-mail address.
  2. Abstract A brief summary of the paper not exceeding 10 lines of text (for review articles and reports from the practice). In the case of review articles, please send the abstract in English as well.
  3. Keywords A list of 3 to 6 keywords (for review articles and reports from the practice). In the case of review articles, please include the keywords in English.
  4. An English translation of the title, abstract and keywords (for review articles).
  5. Literal text When figures are inserted in the document, please also send the original files. When sending artwork by mail, only high-quality originals should be sent. These should be labelled with numbers used to identify them in the text.
  6. References References are to be numbered, references in the text should be cited by author and year of publication in parentheses, e.g. (Rektor 2006), (Rektor and Kuba 2006). If there are more than three authors, cite the first author followed by et al. (Smrcka et al. 2007). A maximum of 20 references are to be listed. References should be arranged in alphabetical order with all authors listed.

  • The author (or the corresponding author) will be asked to return a signed form stating that the paper has not been, is not, and will not be submitted for publication elsewhere while being reviewed and that it is not a duplicate of a paper that has already been published!
  • On acceptance for publication, copyright in the paper will be assigned to the Publisher (Solen).
  • All published contributions are paid for.


  • All published papers are peer-reviewed by two independent reviewers. The reviewers receive each other’s reviews. Following peer-review, the manuscript is proofread by the editorial staff! The final decision is made by the editorial board. The main author will be notified of rejection or acceptance of the paper.
  • The Journal retains the right to make minor stylistic changes in the manuscript. Prior to being printed, the paper will be sent to the authors for final proofreading.
  • Only those who have truly participated in the work may be listed as authors!
  • Given the Journal’s practical orientation, you are requested to write in a clear style with an emphasis on practical utilization of the presented information in outpatient practice.

  • The legal relationships between the publisher and the author are regulated by the Copyright Law. All published contributions are paid for.

Neurologie pro praxi

Vážená paní, pane,
