Syndróm náhleho a neočakávaného úmrtia u detí – SIDS

Autor v prehľadnom článku predstavuje problematiku náhlych úmrtí u malých detí (SIDS), stavy, ktoré môžu k nemu viesť (ALTE, apnoe, vrodené poruchy metabolizmu, poloha počas spánku) a tiež možnosti prevencie týchto stavov, ktoré sa využívajú na Slovensku. Ide najmä o polysomnografické vyšetrenia rizikových detí (súrodenci SIDS, ALTE príhody, poruchy dýchania počas spánku), poskytovanie domácich apnoe monitorov, pregraduálna a postgraduálna výchova a taktiež zdravotno-výchovná činnosť a činnosť Slovenskej nadácie SIDS. Uvedenými opatreniami sa v posledných 5 rokoch znížil a stabilizoval výskyt SIDS na 1/3 oproti začiatku zberu údajov (v 80. rokoch) na hodnoty pod 0,2- na 1000 živonarodených.
