Epilepsie, úzkost a možná paměťový proces: tři vzájemně související fenomény

Farmakologické látky, jakými jsou na jedné straně agonisté benzodiazepinových receptorů, na druhé straně inverzní agonisté benzodiazepinových receptorů, mají, v závislosti na dávce, tři navzájem související účinky. Jednak jsou účinné při léčbě patologických stavů - epilepsie a úzkostných stavů, kde je jejich efekt připisován, alespoň částečně, ovlivnění komplexu GABA receptorů. Působí také ve fázi učení na paměťový proces, tedy na -normální- mozkovou funkci. Tak epilepsie, anxieta a paměťový proces mohou představovat tři navzájem související fenomény.
