Článek podává přehled o diferenciální diagnostice Alzheimerovy nemoci, nastiňuje algorytmus vyšetření pacienta s demencí, prezentuje metody vyšetření Alzheimerovy choroby. Text přináší přehled symptomatologie Alzheimerovy nemoci, kognitivních ale i nekognitivních poruch, dále je uveden přehled léčby této nemoci, a to jak kognitivní tak i nekognitivní symptomatologie. Text si klade za cíl být praktickým průvodcem pro lékaře, který pečuje o pacienty s demencí, zejména s Alzheimerovou nemocí.
