Periodické pohyby končetinami ve spánku

Periodické pohyby končetinami společně se syndromem neklidných nohou jsou přítomny až u 25 % všech pacientů s poruchou spánku. Ve většině případů jsou spojeny s obtížemi s usínáním nebo s častým nočním probouzením. Obecně se jedná o onemocnění, která jsou v klinické praxi často nedostatečně diagnostikována, společně se vyskytují přibližně v 80 % případů. Obě tato onemocnění mohou být jednak primární a jednak sekundární. Standardní metodou pro diagnostiku periodických pohybů končetinami ve spánku je polysomnografie, alternativně je lze hodnotit pomocí aktigrafů s vysokou snímací frekvencí. Aktuálně jsou v léčbě periodických pohybů končetinami ve spánku používány tři základní skupiny léků: dopaminergní preparáty, opioidy a antiepileptika včetně benzodiazepinů, u sekundárních projevů je primárním léčebným opatřením kompenzace základního onemocnění.
