Osmotic demyelination syndrome

Central pontine myelinolysis is a demyelinating disease of the pons caused mainly by a rapid correction of hyponatremia. Disease

manifests itself with neurologic and psychiatric symptoms and can imitate many other diseases. There is no specific therapy of

choice, even though a number of therapeutic approaches have been tested with various degree of success.
